The Alaušo Marathon is a sporting event dedicated to the eve of the Joninės night, taking place by the beautiful Alaušo Lake, which is the tenth largest lake in Lithuania (with an area of 1071.8 hectares). According to legend, the waters of the lake were named in honor of Duke Alaušas, who requested that his ashes be scattered into this clear lake. During the event, participants can choose from various distances, including running, Nordic walking, and cycling.
